The 3rd Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Women in Agricultural Research for Development (NiWARD) with the theme; Gender Mainstreaming, Agribusiness Innovation and Fostering Entrepreneurship Investment from the National Agricultural Research Systems was held on Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, 2015 at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja, Tafawa Balewa Way, opposite the CBN in Central Area. The meeting was a forum to discuss, exhibit and assess research priorities, methodologies/approaches, appropriate innovative technologies, best practices through a gender mainstreaming lens. The Federal Polytechnic Ekowe was showcased by the presence of the Ag. Director  for Academic Planning/Linkages who was in attendance by the reason of her membership to the Organization. She is also a  Fellow of the Regional body of the organization (AWARD) in Africa.
The  Ag. Director, Dr. Mrs. Blessing Okogbue at the exhibition stand showcased her mentoring handbook for academic institutions. On the right, is her photograph with her excellency, the former first lady of Bayelsa State, Dame Alayingi Sylva who represented the Nigerian first lady, Mrs. Buhari. And next to her on the photograph is the President of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nnam, Dr. Mrs. Joy Odimegwu both from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and the Queens of Aso World and Aso universe who have taken up Agriculture as their Pet programmes.
